Men's fashionable clothing consisted
of multiple garments, layering rich fabrics with many embellishments to emphasize both wealth and social standing.
However, this was neither practical, nor affordable, (and sometimes illegal) for the common man. Certainly, there were
those (tradesmen, merchants, etc) who attempted to keep up with fashion trends, just using more common materials (leather
