SkyRidge Designs was founded by Bonnie Joines over 20
years ago. Bonnie's sewing started with watching her mother sewing at an old straight stitch Singer sewing machine. She
took a semester of sewing in high school economics, but otherwise is self-taught.
Bonnie quickly discovered a love of creating costumes and historical clothing. About
1995 she began making clothing and costumes to sale to others. Since then, Bonnie has spent countless hours researching
historical sewing techniques, patterns, and resources. Although she has sewn from many different time periods, Bonnie confesses
she is still enamored with clothing from the Renaissance and Victorian eras.
Wesley spent several years involved in fashion photography in Florida. After "burning
out" and putting the photography on hold, Wesley moved back to Texas and opened a small studio. He met Bonnie
through a mutual business contact. They found they had much in common; their relationship became more than just fashions used
in photography shoots and the two were married.
Wesley had spent years making clothing look like it fit models for a photo session, but soon purchased a sewing machine
and began altering and creating clothing. Now he is equally at home both producing and showcasing the garments. Finding
he liked the challenges of pattern drafting, Wesley not only designs, but constructs original garments based on either
your designs or his own imagination.
started in product testing (proving that toddler's clothing should be washable and durable) and finally moved into modeling.
She has recently added her talents with photo and video editing.
Catherine is still mainly in product testing, but is also proving to very persuasive in sales and advertising.
